Please help us to expand our library of video interviews by adding some of your own. In order to create a uniform collection, please adhere to the following instructions:

  • At the teacher’s discretion, the teacher/faculty advisor may select one or more students as the History Heard representative(s) at your school for that school year. Please include the student(s)’ name and e-mail when filling out the Index Submission Form. (The student will then be a part of the History Heard network, and he/she may then use this distinction when applying to college)
  • E-mail this information to aaddison@historyheard.com

  • Any digital video recorder will work. Try asking classmates or your school's technology department if a video camera is available for use during History Heard interviews.
  • Select an interviewee approved by the teacher/faculty advisor.
  • From the History Heard website, print:
    • A copy of talent release form
    • Interview topics and questions (including the pre-written introduction)
    • Index Submission Form
  • With the help of your teacher/faculty advisor, compose questions that are of interest to you or use History Heard's suggested questions as a guide. All questions must relate to at least one of the History Heard categories. If you think that there is a historically relevant topic that is not covered under one of the categories, please let us know.
  • Send the interviewee the list of topics and questions at least one day before the interview so that he/she can think about what he/she would like to say. Remember, History Heard is not about asking the "tough questions." We just want to hear the story.
  • Make clear plans with your interviewee as to where and when the interview will take place.
  • Conduct the Interview (See Interview How-To and Categories and Questions)
  • Teacher/Faculty advisor and student(s) review interview and complete Index Submission Form.
  • Transfer the video to a DVD or flash drive.
  • Mail to:
    History Heard
    203 50th St. NW

    Bradenton, FL 34209

Include:

    • Interview DVD or flash drive
    • Talent Release Form
    • Index Submission Form

IMPORTANT: No video will be uploaded until both forms and the Interview DVD or flash drive are received by History Heard

  • We will notify your teacher/faculty advisor as soon as the video is published.
